Lawal Pedro SAN
Principal
The Principal Partner of the firm is a seasoned legal practitioner with wealth of experience in Civil, Commercial and Criminal Law. He obtained his law degree from Ahmadu Bello University with a second-class upper in 1985 and was called to the Bar in 1986 after completing the requisite course of studies at the Nigerian Law School. He had brief experience in the practice for about 2 years before joining the public service.
He joined the Lagos State Ministry of Justice in December 1987 and worked in various directorates and became Director of Civil Litigation in the year 2006; a position he held until he was appointed the Solicitor General of Lagos State and Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Justice in April 2008. In recognition of his contributions and dedication to the legal profession in Nigeria, he was called to Inner Bar in December 2008 as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
He also served as Head of Prosecution of High Profile Criminal Cases in Lagos State between 2008-2015. In this capacity, he prosecuted diligently numerous high profile cases up to the Supreme Court.
He retired from the public service of Lagos State Government in August 2015 to commence his private legal practice in the firm of Lawal Pedro, SAN & Associates with offices in Lagos And Abuja.
Mr Lawal Pedro SAN is a fellow Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Nigeria, an examiner of the Institute of Arbitrators Nigeria and a certified Mediator (CEDR).
